St Josephs base is behind the main school. Children
from St Josephs, Craigdhu and Clober come here, currently we
have spaces for 40 children daily. We have use of two
rooms, one is used for homework and art activities, the other is
used for free play. We also frequently use the playground
outside for various activities and make good use of the
excellent outdoor space we are lucky to have.
St Josephs is also used for
our holiday cover and in 2006 offered a breakfast club for
Milngavie, St Josephs and Craigdhu.
What do my children do?
The programme is set weekly
by the children who are divided into juniors and seniors,
activities can include role play, play doh, dodgieball,
clay modeling, dance and baking . We try to make the
programme varied to cater for all children's likes and encourage
them to learn new skills.
Free play is
always encouraged and encourages your child's social
skills as they make new friends, in a supervised environment. We have a large range
of toys including board games, lego, construction toys, cars,
dolls, computer and games consoles to name a few. We also have
physical play weekly, to keep up with current trends and
legislation we have a rolling programme of Promoting
Healthy Lifestyles through Physical Play encompassing the
developmental stages of each individual child.
We have children's passports for you to fill
in with your child, this enables you to pass on valuable
information about your child's likes and dislikes. We work in
partnership with our parents and families and value their input
and involvement. We also have
a children's council in each base, this enables the children to
work with the staff in the running and organisation of their
club.
Opening times
We are open
until 6 pm, Monday to Friday during term time.
